Problem?
The car industry really seems to be in a trouble because of recent extremely high gas prices. A lot of advertisements for cars are usually seen everywhere, on magazines, webpages, or billboards. But now, there are less ads for cars around.
In fact, the latest issue of Time magazine had only one page of ad for a car manufacturing company. The magazine had seven pages of ads for car companies and other related businesses ( insurance company/ tire company). While car industry is having a hard time, I found a familiar logo in the magazine. It says “M” in a white circle… Yes, it is Metro.
It is probably the best time for this transportation authortity. The ad said “solution” under the logo. Now they have a phrase which has much more inpact than “eco-friendly.”

This is a very keen observation on your part. I hadn’t noticed that there were less car advertisements around lately, but it does seem to make sense with the soaring gas prices, but then again this makes one wonder what the fate of car manufacturers will be during this gas crisis.
I’ll keep a look out now and look through the magazines I read or notice if I see less car advertisements on television.

Well its pretty understandable that car ads aren’t as big anymore cept in like maybe radio. But I will agree with you on the best time for the transit authority thing. And as to the eco-friendly comment that I guess metro put up I think its actually pretty valid if you think about it. Less people driving their cars and are on a bus now, less pollution, so friendlier on the enviroment.
I do see where your coming from, but I disagree. Different car manufacturers are constantly coming up with new marketing ideas to sell to the public eye, We live in Los Angeles County, where we see more advertising for everything a lot more than your other average U.S City. Yes with the high prices on gas it seems who can afford a new car, Companies from all types are promoting their “green vehicle” fuel efficient. I am constantly bombarded by those type of ads all the time from TV to the particular magazines I read and I say particular b/c you have to look @ the audience which you already knew that. Me being a car guy, see ad’s for cars all the time. Time Mag. is most likely not gonna have to much marketing for vehicles in their spreads. Its promoting business, economy, world news, which yes crude oil demand is!
